AI Visibility Tracking

Press Ranger's AI Visibility tracking shows you how AI assistants talk about and recommend your brand. AI Visibility reports tell you where your brand was named, where it was missing, how each platform describes you, and which citations the platforms use to form their answers.

Every company on your account gets its own report, so agencies and resellers can track each client separately. Reports can be shared and white-labeled like everything in Press Ranger.

Note: AI Visibility tracking is in beta. Reports run on every account today, and scheduled refreshes, recommendations, and the finer points of how each platform is read are still being tuned. Tell us what you think from the report page.

What Gets Tracked

For each company, Press Ranger tracks up to sixteen prompts across ChatGPT, Google, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot.

When an answer names your brand, we save the screenshot, record every URL the answer cited, and score how favorably the answer describes you.

Running Your First Report

  1. Open the AI Visibility tab and click Get started next to a company. The same card appears on your Dashboard for the active company.
  2. Press Ranger reads the company website and drafts sixteen prompts relevant to the brand and its category. This takes about a minute.
  3. Review the list. Edit prompts, delete them, or add your own. The report is only as good as the prompts, so this step is worth your time.
  4. Click Confirm and Run Report.

A report takes about 60 minutes. You'll get an email when it finishes, or you can watch the report page populate in real-time.

When Reports Refresh

Scheduled refreshes are in beta. Prompt edits, removals, and additions apply to the next report, and we will let you know when refreshes go live for every account.

Prompts

A prompt is a question a buyer might ask an AI assistant, such as "What's the best payroll software for a ten-person company?" Press Ranger drafts sixteen from the company website, in the language of the site, and anchors them to a city when the company serves a local market. Each one gets a category:

  • Commercial: a buyer looking for a provider. These are the prompts that win customers.
  • Informational: a buyer learning about the problem your category solves.
  • Branded: a buyer asking about you by name, such as "Is Press Ranger legit?"

Edit a prompt to reword it, remove one you do not want asked again, or add your own. The list holds sixteen active prompts. Changes apply to the next report, and results already on the report stay attached to the old wording, marked "Edited."

Click the eye next to a prompt to hide it from client reports. Hidden prompts stay monitored, but they leave the share link, the PDF, and every figure on the report.

Reading Your Report

Four figures sit at the top of every report:

  • Brand presence: the share of prompts where at least one platform named your brand. This is the number to move.
  • Sentiment: how favorably AI answers describe your brand when they name it, from 0 to 100.
  • Prompts monitored: the prompts on the report, hidden ones excluded.
  • Citations: the distinct URLs AI answers linked while naming your brand.

The Platforms table shows, for each platform, the share of prompts where it named you, its sentiment, and the sites it linked most often across your prompts. A green tag marks your own site. That last column is the shortlist for your next placements, because coverage on the sites a platform already trusts is what gets a brand into its answers.

Each prompt shows an icon for every platform that named your brand. Click one to open the captured answer with the prompt and the platform in frame. "Not found" means no platform named you for that question.

The Citations table lists every URL an AI answer linked while naming your brand, with the prompts it appeared for and the platforms that cited it. Click a platform icon to see the answer that linked it. Third-party pages here, such as review sites and listicles, are the pages doing the work for you, so keep them accurate.

Sharing Reports and PDFs

Click Share Report on a company's report to copy its public link. The link is permanent for that company and always shows the latest report. Download as PDF gives you the same report laid out for print.

Both carry your white-label logo and reporting domain from White-label Settings, the same settings your press release reports use. Setup is covered in White-Label Reports.

To feature a screenshot on the shared report, open any captured answer and click Add to report. It appears full size in a Featured captures section on the share link and the PDF. Hidden prompts stay off both.

When a report finishes, the account owner gets an email with brand presence, sentiment, the platform count, and a link to the report.

Improving Your Results
